Joel is probably the best of a bad bunch to be fair. I hold a very slim vain hope that McCarthy will turn decent again too. But yeah, we could easily flog them all and buy better players instead now.

just me who thinks howard shot stopping was class and he made some class saves, bit dodgy near the end, but howard made the saves you wouldnt expect him to make robles doesnt do that has to improve to be as good as howard was. Anyone who forgets howards last season will remember how good a goalkeeper he has been for us

Robles has made some tremendous saves for us that he had no right of getting anywhere near this season!

They're both young, Spanish, Martinez signings... and when they come to their senses, they'll realise that (sadly for him and us), he's failed.

It's not like older, more experienced, English players like Jags, Barry, Osman, Lennon or Baines are queuing up to endorse him is it?

If you need/want to try and twist the words I wrote to suit your own agenda/thinking, that's your issue.

I simply stated that the few words of support for him came from his young, less experienced countrymen whereas older, more experienced players of our own domestic lineage have not, as yet, made their feelings known... nor do I expect them to.

For gods sake, why does everything have to be an argument on here? Im not trying to "twist" anything.

I couldnt give a toss where people come from. I just wouldnt put much stock in what our English contingent say or dont say because they have hardly got the medals to back up that their way is the right way have they?

I wasn't arguing.

I was simply clarifying the words I wrote and what I meant to convey - whether they're winners or losers, to me, is immaterial, the fact reamins that they are older, more experienced players who are not his countrymen.

Robles and Deulofeu, perfectly understandably in my opinion, offered a measure of support for a fellow Spaniard.

Where's the argument there ?

No doubt he has been a good keeper for us...just that he is in decline and time to go. Will always remember his peno saves against United in the semi.

Thats what i mean should be remembered for being a good goalkeeper he's 35 has every right to be in decline been loyal and always loved everton and evidently still does

He has been cruelly exposed by an incompetent defensive unit in recent games to be fair to the lad

His all round goalkeeping has been a vast improvement on Howard but I do agree this punching thing is infuriating however this seems to be the norm with goalkeepers of the modern game

i agree mate was just stating he isnt as good as howard was, i hope he can get as good some of the keepers in the league but can never see him being one of the best so do think eventually if we want to compete we need one of the best goalkeepers, even though now its not a massive priority

I dont agree but then again I have always thought Howard was rubbish for us barring the first year when he signed for us where he was dominating his area etc.

Its just as well he was such a good athlete because his goalkeeping basics are awful.

They've got a fair few England caps for what it's worth. That has a certain significance.
