Joel Robles

Well you see mate, grown ups have a thing called money and you can give it to someone in exchange for services, such as playing for the football club you own

Think it'd be very harsh on him not to give him a chance to be number 1 for a season. He's done very little wrong.

If come next summer he's been disappointing or looks like he's not going to develop much more, then look for a better option, but I think he's improved at a solid rate in his time here and a full season of being the first choice could do wonders for him.

We need at least two first team keepers. 3 to make it safe. We need a first choice keeper who is better than Robles.

We need a first choice keeper who is better than Robles.

Misuse of the word need.

When Howard was playing, we needed a new number one. Before Moshiri, we needed new investment. Currently we need a new manager.

Joel isn't even close to being the reason why things have gone wrong this season. We do not need better. Better would be good, it always will be good, because it's better. But I say give Joel the chance to get better like he has done throughout his Everton career. He's still young for a keeper.

I'm not quite sure I understand the shouts of 'he's not bad so why don't we just see if he's any good with a run in the team and then get rid if he's not'. Well, because if he's not, then we'll have just wasted a year won't we? So would it not make sense to bring in someone who we know is better in the first place?

Don't get me wrong, if Martinez (or his replacement) see Joel as a potentially top class keeper then fine, keep him. They know better than me obviously. But keeper is a very important position, and my personal opinion is that there at least 8 keepers in the league who are clearly better than him, and only a couple who he is definitely better than. We weren't happy when Osman and Hibbert were playing and they were the 9th/10th/11th best players in their position, so is there a reason why we'll accept it from a keeper?

That's called competition of place and they will push each other for better performance.

I've always thought there should only be one 'senior' goalkeeper mate and a lot of snides in the background secretly waiting to take his place.

Think of it like a one-party state.
