Joel Robles

Hold on here. I feel for Robles, and he still deserves his shot, but when the defense plays crap in front of Howard, it's somehow Howard's fault. When they play crap in front of Robles, it's their own fault. Does this mean people finally just realize the defense is crap?

We don't blame Howard for goals that are not his fault. But the fact is, Howard has been responsible for a lot of goals...and he causes panic. Defensively we were not awful

I loved how his kicks found an Everton player on a regular basis, a novel idea, I think i'll actually cry when I see Howard in between the posts for the Newcastle match.

Joel should start from here on out to see if he has it in him to be a starting PL keeper. I'm not convinced he does, but cup ties aren't good enough data. Doubt the results will be much different with either keeper with the mess in front of them.

Joel didn't do anything mental to concede any of those goals. Howard does mental things to concede goals.
Yes. Not the point. The point is people say the defense looks shaky and gives away so many chances because they've got no confidence in Howard. Fact is, they look crap and give away so many chances regardless of who is in nets. Howard's cock ups aside, the defense is poor, and the blame for their poor play should be directed at them.

we wouldn't have got anywhere near the semi's if it wasn't for robles.

i just liked how city lumped the ball forward and jagielka lost it in the flight and aguero had nipped ahead of him ... it was carbon copy of costa's goal ... but this time we had a keeper who'd reacted and he was 20 yards out of his goal and calmly headed to a defender.

We have a crap defence who won't come good overnight, but they'd be massively more confident with robles behind than howard for the rest of the season.

20 seconds in and stones passed it back to him despite not being under pressure from anyone, last 4 or 5 games, he's attempted 2 or 3 cryuff turns whilst under pressure instead of giving it to howard.

It's not 'Howard's cock ups aside' though is it?

It's 'Howard's cock ups AND a crap defence'.

Not sure I've seen anyone say any different.

He deserves a chance to prove himself . That's it . No more no less .

He looks good enough for me . But he needs at least half a season or full year being number one to judge .
