I saw 'Marvin' Gueye play a couple of our 'warm-up' matches pre-season and I must say his link up play was excellent. He added that fresh dimension that is surely lacking with us at the moment - plus with him being a fringe player ..erm..on the fringe, trying to impress, you know he's going to get stuck in and do his best - unlike some of the complacent douchebags we have stinking up the pitch as we speak :(

I agree with you, he will try very hard to impress.. But that's not always a good thing.. That said, I vote yes, give the lad a go.

Now here's the thing I don't get. I'd feel fairly certain that if we had a striker that had just scored such a goal for the England under 21's he'd have been a regular part of the match day squad by now, especially with our lack of goals this year, yet Silva hasn't been near it for us. What gives?

Very true. Not sure why he's never got a sniff and been sent back to Portugal....

If he comes back a monster and some more games under his belt, then happy days. But, if Saha is out for a month....can we recall him now....ha

Just a bit baffling really. I mean Portugal have shown time and again that they're the match for England internationally, so you'd think their under 21s would certainly be no worse than ours, if not better. Vaughan and Anichebe both had games whilst playing under 21 football so why not Silva?

Hang on... we've loaned out the Yak, Vaughan, Agard and Silva... not brought anyone in, and Saha's injured again?

We're the business equivalent of a 5 year old getting his tongue stuck to a frozen lampost; absolutely feckless.

We've brought The Greek in!! Don't forget that goal scoring machine!!! =) x

God I really hope he turns out to be one....if he ever gets a game

He looks less impressive and less ready than Silva and Gueye, both of whom haven't had a single appearance in the prem. So don't hold your breath!

Where's the talk of an injury to Saha coming from? Gutting if true. It's pretty unbelievable that we have so many fewer strikers than we did before january.

Few more shin-rollers from Beckford should see us through alright though.

Great strike !!!! and to make it even better he is left-footed ..... I think

Really hope he comes back a better player.
