He's lucky the ball didn't go laces first else he would have had a permanent reminder every time he looked in the mirror!

Is that why we had semicircles behind the goals then? I'd assumed it was some elegant design flourish - turns out it was yob inspired.

I think fifa enforced it for the World Cup in ‘66. They deemed the crowd behind the goals too close to the field of play.

The boys pen always started the chant, 'ev,-er-ton,' followed by 3 stamps on the wooden terrace, great times for 5 shillings (25p).
