I don't understand why we're selling again, we will have literally no backup to Lukaku, where did the Fellaini and Anichebe money go? 13m on McCarthy, a couple of mill on the loans for Barry and Lukaku... the maths don't add up

He has apparently asked to go for 1st team football/World cup chances etc.

There is no such player, or at least not a reliable option. The price point is too low. There's no point whatsoever in selling Jelavic unless he's bringing in a "proper" striker, otherwise he'd go with what he had to avoid squad disruption.

He'll either get a ridiculously good deal on an established player like Ba, or he'll spend £10m+ IMO. Otherwise I just don't see the point. If he spends £5m now, it's £5m off a proper sum for a proper player in July.
Listen to his forum interview mate.

Loan deal for a Spanish speaking forward to cover Kone's absence.

More nailed on than JC.

Edit : .. and once that's sorted Vellios will be loaned out to a Championship clib

Loan signing would make sense, cash signing would not.

But we'd be then looking at bringing in two strikers in the summer and relying on Kenwright to neglect filling up the Other Operating Costs column. Worrying.

I seriously detest Bill Kenwright. Everytime I think of him I grind my teeth ffs.

it depends on if he believes we have a chance on securing Lukaku/CL football, if he does on either one of those he may want to keep whatever cash he has prior to jela's sale to secure Luka or a quality striker who we couldn't attract at present in the summer. Like I said I hope we bring a quality striker but I'll be highly surprised if its not your £5-6 mil decent striker to be a good option of the bench.

I love the fuming over starting Feb with just Lukaku, Kev and Vellios....

...its not going to happen!

Martinez has already said Jelly would not be sold without a replacement ready.

He has also said he prefers to do the main business in the summer as prices are too high now. This would all indicate that we either get a high quality loan in or we spend middling money on a 2nd/3rd choice striker, one that Bobby sees as more suited to what he wants than Jelly.

This would also indicate that by the time the new season starts in August we will have two shiny new strikers in place jostling for positions with 14.7mil Kone.

I am excited, but talk of Kenwyne kind of dampens that..

Lacazette? Belguim kid?

I think we're going to need a big signing now. I wouldn't trust the board's ring fenced transfer budget for the summer. Also if Lukaku gets crocked we are in for a bumpy end to the season.

Why not both, should have money left from the summer and now this extra 5 mil

At least there's no dithering this time, jelavic out early doors, move on, there's gotta be someone lined up, I posted here a couple of weeks back that I thought Long would be a great fit for our system, be happy with him coming in

Just hope we don't live to regret this. All though he's been poor, could pop up with an important goal or two to earn us vital points. And maybe the QPR game was a sign that he could be on his way back to some sort of form, you never know.

Look at Bendtner, absolutely gash as he is, pops up with a late goal to beat Cardiff.

E=noharmdone;2453251]Ruiz told he can leave..
Hugo Rodallega former player for bobby, cheap and knows the prem , could do for a short term deal?[/QUOTE]

Martinez has said that it is important whoever he brings in doesn't unsettle the squad. He could have also asked Oviedo about Ruiz.

Great deal for Jelavic.

Martinez will have someone lined up. No need for anyone to panic.

Jelavic - 2 goals in 10 months, 0 goals in his last 700 minutes of Premier League football. Sold for £5.5m rising to £7m. This maybe a better deal than flogging Anichebe for £5m was.

Love the bloke, like singing his song, but his departure won't have any effect on how we've been doing this season, and that's the harsh reality of the situation, without wearing blue-tinted specs.

Theres no point in seeing it as a regret. There is only so long a club can wait for a player to come back into "form", if that was the problem. We gave him plenty of chances. So we have done what is right at this moment, that fact wont be changed if he starts slotting for Hull Tabbycats.

Best of luck to him.
