No medical expert and I’m sure you’re not. If in 2 weeks he’s in every training session. At that point we will still have 8 games to go. Why wait 5 months till august.
While I'm not advocating waiting till July (pre-season start), I can see the sense in not rushing him or having ambitious expectations.

For me, we should be slowly but surely upping his training schedule and intensity and considering a fair few U23 fixtures before even considering the first team.

If that means we don't see him starting games until pre-season, then so be it. Obviously if he can safely start earlier, all the better for the squad.

We and Gbamin himself can't risk another injury before he's ready or soon after he's regained his fitness.

No point with you is there ? No one is suggesting that but if it pleases you to post a comment about a previous rehab -which is of no consequence or gravity -then rant on ,I don't see the relevance so for that I am out

Christ, quickest takedown in a thread I've ever had. I only wrote one post.

You used the word risk yourself. If there's still a risk then why bother?
Tbf there will always be a risk though - same with any player (like taking first steps out of lockdown, doesn’t matter whether we do it in 2 weeks or 3 months, there’ll be a risk).

Just about mitigating it as much as poss.

I think we’ll see him start one or two matches, towards the end of the season (especially as we’ll have a few games that are having to be fitted in in midweek)

Yeh but there's a different risk in U23 games till pre-season than U23/first team games till pre-season.

Yeah well U23s should be the first step. Get him coming off the bench or playing 45 in one of them, and then you get him building up an hour to 90 mins. Then you look at putting him on the bench, just to get him back involved in a match day squad. Slowly build it up and then you can look at him starting towards the end of the season

he’ll want that too - he’ll need it heading into pre-season tbh

Just imagine the confidence boost if he gets on this season .The way Carlo is about his players I think we can rest assured he will only get on when it is right for him E.G. Gomes and Digne came back quite quickly but James gets rested all the time and Allan was out much longer than Dom with a similar injury.
He has managed the best and it shows .
