CM like @BlueStevie35 said but when he was getting signed his agent kept on spouting rubbish like "he's FINE in CM but he SHOULD be a CB!" all the time for some reason. As if we just let Gana go and signed a CM for him to play CB.

No, he has mostly played as a Defensive midfielder, occasionally he has played as a box to box midfielder. He can win the ball back, he has a good range of passing and, before the injuries, he could pick the ball up and run with it, hopefully he still can, but I guess we will see
