Yes, but they have to be in contact with City over the injury because they are his parent club. Given the complex and expensive nature of the deal, discussions should already have begun about the possibility of sending him back if necessary - particularly if we are only going to focus on bringing in loans. And more so, if Moyes is going to continue to insist on PL experience- we only jave 2 PL loan spaces and Grealish takes up one.

Apparently, such discussions haven't even begun. I don't trust us to get them done in time to use the loan market appropriately.
Out of our hands at the moment,it depends on when the injury stabilises enough to scan then on what the specialists think his recovery time will be. Then there's the small print of the contract, which none of us know. If it is a season ender, yes be great if we could send him back.

Yet somehow we still managed to find youngsters at the time, like Coleman, Branthwaite and Stones in the lower leagues ?

We got Illy for 15mil, who`s now a 70mil plus player, KDH for 25mil, who`s worth a lot more than that now too.

If you looked at every single team, you`ll find a load of dud signings, amongst their good signings too.

It`s trying to get the balance right that`s the most difficult part.
Quite.

The recruitment has generally been excellent over the past 4-5 seasons of wheeling and dealing on a shoostring otherwise Everton would have been relegated.

O'Brien, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Aznou, Patterson, Garner, Gueye, Iroegbunam, Dewsbury-Hall, Alcaraz, Rohl, Grealish, McNeil (he has done a very good job over the years for under £20 million), Ndaiye.

That's around £185 million spent on all those players plus the loan of Grealish.

Plus previously signing Branthwaite and Pickford for under £30 million.

Gordon was sold for around £45 million plus circa £35 million profit on fees paid for Richarlison, Digne, and Onana = £80 million recouped just on those players. Lost a couple of million on Chermiti and Maypay.

Replacing Gordon (sold for circa £45 million) for Ndaiye for under £20 million...put some respect on that please.

Barry was around £27 million. Young lad and he has shown signs of progression. 3 goals in his last 4 league games.

Beto hasn't worked out but for around £25 million he hasn't been a complete disaster as he scored some crucial goals last season when he was needed. If he's sold the fee would still likely be around £10-15 million.

Dibling was circa £35-40 million. He has been judged by many as a winger with a 6'6 (quality) centre back behind him at right back...give the lad a chance for goodness sake. Jury is still out but let's see how he progresses. He showed more than enough against Forest that there's a player in there.

Every single team will have dud signings. When you look at Everton over the last 5 years there are very few and those have generally been shipped out for minimal loss.

The age of the squad is in a much healthier position as well.

I think some people don't realise what a great job Everton have done with recruitment over the last 5 years given the netspend. I get it, they still understandably have nightmares of previous signings with the likes of Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Gbamin, Sigurdsson, Klassen, Walcott, Tosun etc but that was a long time ago.

The next few recruitment windows are key. We must get those right to kick on to the next level.

Actually insane seeing the live implosion of Palace, a bit sad to see to be honest. The ‘good vibes’ team of last season and cup winners has all but been ripped apart within a week (manager, captain, top scorer)
It’s crazy and sad - with a bit of support to glasner, I think they could have kicked on even more.

Instead it’s gone the other way completely.

Always had a soft spot for palace, not just because there’s a few sound palace fans on here.

Why are we talking about a City winger we can’t loan who also looks close to signing for Fulham? Seems just a tad pointless.

Why do people think city will loan us Bobb when Fulham have offered 35m to buy him???

Haha it’s crazy.

We also can’t ignore the fact that Fulham have a track record for developing youngsters whereas we are a graveyard for young players.

Hasn’t seen the Fulham news, obvs
