January Transfer Window 2026

Correct.

We don’t have a scouting network or management infrastructure to identify and sign genuine talent.

Add Moyes dithering on top and it’s pretty grim.

This is why we’ve been linked to duds like Cameron Wilson, the Moroccan journeyman striker and a Sunderland reserve.
Or when we do sign young players, we give them 3-4 games and write them of as rubbish and a waste of money, and we need players who can perform now and we shouldn't be spending money on players who aren't ready Blah blah blah

Instant success is required or everybody moans, to old, to young, no sell on value, we sign 10 players in a window and everyone still moans that it wasn't enough. We are doing ok this season and have a chance for Europe there is nothing grim about it, we were on 17 pts at this point last year that was grim!

Yet somehow we still managed to find youngsters at the time, like Coleman, Branthwaite and Stones in the lower leagues ?

We got Illy for 15mil, who`s now a 70mil plus player, KDH for 25mil, who`s worth a lot more than that now too.

If you looked at every single team, you`ll find a load of dud signings, amongst their good signings too.

It`s trying to get the balance right that`s the most difficult part.

huh did Grealish injury not happen yesterday ? even so he still needs to see the specialist.
Yes, but they have to be in contact with City over the injury because they are his parent club. Given the complex and expensive nature of the deal, discussions should already have begun about the possibility of sending him back if necessary - particularly if we are only going to focus on bringing in loans. And more so, if Moyes is going to continue to insist on PL experience- we only jave 2 PL loan spaces and Grealish takes up one.

Apparently, such discussions haven't even begun. I don't trust us to get them done in time to use the loan market appropriately.

Apparently? How the hell have you arrived there ?

i think we will first wait until the exact timescale of his absence is known. If i remember well Broja returned before the season was over. It could have an impact depending on whether anything is written in the agreement with City and what we want ourselves. Maybe we pay rest of the loan fee, send him back and they give us a loan for free hahahaha

Attention... FlightRadar geeks.... Checking Liverpool airport arrivals for the glorious return of our oversees champions, I noticed this private jet arriving this afternoon from Geneva. Co-incidence on the plane registration?

I have also noticed a private jet heading from Dakar coming north but doesn't feel it's on the right path for Geneva.

Anyhow, I thought it should be posted in the transfer window thread to start some hopeful discussions on transfer activity.

Good grief man will you relax a little .

O
We might want to look into Quinten Timber at Feijenoord. CM, former captain, already capped for The Netherlands. He had a big fallout with his manager (Van Persie) and the situation is not maintainable anymore. There might be a good deal possible.

N.B. I hope we stay away from Noa Lang.
Off to Marseille

Of all the positions in the squad, I would say that CM (and gk) is the very least of the areas we should look at.
Also, very few players straight from Holland transition into the PL easily.

CM is probably the least position that needs attention.
