Save the dosh until summer. When fit, we potentially have a midfield pairing of Gomes and Gbamin, with Bernard central, and a front three of DCL, Kean and Richarlison who will hopefully keep developing. If we're going to buy in any of those positions, they need to be top notch, no more journeyman. Our real issues are at the back, unless Pickford can stop playing like a chav, he needs replacing with a more stable keeper. Digne has gone off the boil this season but has the quality to recover his form. Right back is a position we need to improve, and above all we need a commanding centre back to partner Holgate or Mina. A couple of shrewd loans this window would be fine with me, we need to be patient.

Backed up by Bernard Gomes and Gbamin is something I’d like to see at least once before the season ends
Pity Carlo plays 4/4/2 but if he could get those 6 into his preferred formation it would be nice to watch

We should be looking primarily for the quality in this league. There is plenty of it there and some of it can be had for tremendous value if we are smart. What we've got to stop doing is fetishizing foreign players who we know nothing about and where we often get our fingers burnt. Think Moyes.
