January signing perhaps?

If we are top 4 in January, we will be lucky to hold on to our better players, the vultures will be circling.

Fortunately the likes of Baines would like to to play CL football with us, not sure about the rest though?

I'm afraid there is no money left for another striker.
Why not? I don't think we have spent all the Rodwell money yet. We made roughly £20 million from sales of him, Cahill, Yobo etc. plus saved wages.
Mirallas, Oviedo, Pienaar came to roughly £10 million plus Naismith on a free. Taking into account wages I would still say that leaves us with plenty to spend - unless the banks have swallowed up the rest!
Otherwise I see no reason as to why we haven't got any cash

No offence mate but your figures are way off in fantasy land!

Secondly you feel the most important thing we need to do with are last bit of cash is sign another CF??
Have you not watched our Center midfield at times this season?

Jelavic is our No.1 striker and is proving his worth. As it stands vic is being the chance to deputise and is doing well. There's also Naismith and mirallas who can play there if needs be , although not ideally suited as lone strikers. Donovan who I believe will be a EFC player come January one way or the other could also play there. We are not going to spend anything like 5M + on another striker and nor should we. The only way serious money would be spent on a striker is if moyes gives up on vic and sells him generating funds to reinvest in another striker..again rightly so IMO!

As for the cash we have left... We are desperate for another CM. Neville is 90yrs old, ossie is a squad player and is 31 himself. Gibson seems to be a player who will pick up knocks throughout a season, then there's the 2 young ones Barkley and Jnr. Hopefully we will pick one up in January and to me that is the priority!

I agree with getting another a CM - Gibson having this injury worried everyone and realisation that another CM was needed.

If any cash is available it would not do us any harm in looking for another goal keeper too if possible. But its not our biggest requirement at the moment.

This. He was the right choice in august, he'll be the right choice in january.

Do you think?

I would imagine he would replace ossie and partner Gibson?
But for all ossie's faults he's very skillfull and creative and has been linking brilliantly with the top 4....

Do you think we'd miss that with valdis in there?

I have no idea, just they seem very different players?

Ofoe seems pretty creative too, he's just also stronger and more physical. Honestly, I never though I'd say this about a Moyes team but we could do with more solidity and less creativity, right now. The team that started yesterday had 7 flair players and three no nonsense ones. You swap Neville for Gibson and it's even more unbalanced.

Two CMs who will close down and harass isn't going to turn us into stoke when a ) they can also pass and b ) we're playing Baines, Coleman, Jelavic, Pienaar and the two Belgians as well. It will just give us a base for the flair players to do their stuff.

Ofoe will probs be in other teams focus too after this fuzz.
it might not be that easy to sign him that we might think, dunno..just babling me

You say my figures are way off in fantasy land - can you prove that?
Rodwell sold for £15 mill, Cahill for just over a mill, Yobo for around 2 mill, Silva 350,000 plus their wages.
Mirallas bought for £5.3 mill, Pienaar roughly £3 mill, Oviedo roughly £2 mill, Naismith free plus their wages.
You do the math!
Also, you indicate that our midfield is poor - the same midfield that has helped Everton create the most shots on goal by any team in the top 5 European Leagues. Seems like they are doing okay to me.
You also say that Mirallas,Naismith and Donovan can play up front which is correct but they can also play in midfield, along with a host of other players, so for me that area is covered.
The one thing the top sides have that set them above the rest is quality front players - we have Jelavic - what happens if/when he gets injured long term? I would say we need a top quality striker to either play with or replace him and I don't think what we currently have is capable of that.

To be honest if we have any money in Jan to strengthen the squad, and if we're in with a chance of champions league id rather we got an experienced prem player who could slot right in than vadis who would be a riskier option if he takes time to settle.
Phil Neville but 8 years younger in other words.
