I like the look of that Taarabt lid, bags of tricks and an eye for goal, admittedly in a lower division. Not sure he's better than what we already have though!

Thinking about it now, I'd have:

Pienaar out
Heitinga out

Recall Vaughan, sign Kranjcar and get Landy and/or Becks on loan. I'd be pretty pleased with that.

Ok - still mad about the result and starting to think that we have quite a few mercenaries in our squad. Building a squad around Rodwell and Fellaini should be obvious, but it got me thinking about possible targets in the Cahill, Lescott, Jags mould that would be young hungry and looking to impress. So what do people think of the following players? (Chico and Matt Damon need not reply :P)
Still think we should go for Adam and Holtby, but besides them:

Connor Wickham

Chris Brunt

Graham Dorrans

Mark Beeves (Sheff Wed)

Adel Taarabt

Victor Moses

James McCarthy (Wigan)

Matt Jarvis

Wayne Hennessey (Wolves)

Robert Snodgrass

I wouldnt be dissapointed with anyone on that list apart from Snodgrass and Beevers. Jarvis and Brunt would be an upgrade Pienaar to be honest. Watched them all play quite a bit, though Brut, Jarvis, McCarthy, Dorrans and Wickham would come cheap. A few others i could mention!

I am wondering if Moyes would be willing to part ways with Bilyaletdinov. Unfortunately don't see him to make it here and with Russian League being over some teams will aggressively be looking for reinforcements. I believe that we still can get around 7-8m pounds for him, as there will be a serious competition between Russian teams for his signature. It would theoretically allow us to bid for someone like N'Zogbia, Jarvis or Lee and I rate all three very high, probably Zog is the most talented and can change games, he's also the laziest and most difficult to coach out of this group. Because of age factor I would prefell all of them to Donovan being signed permanently (have no issue with another loan of course), I know I will be in minority here.

I guess we could get a similar money to Heitinga, but we would have to invest that immediately into getting another centre back and with Steven Taylor's name floating around not sure if I want to do it. Moyes finally needs to sign and use a defender who is a good ball player, we will never make an another step, if we would keep playing 2 hoofers at the back and getting Taylor would be an another disaster in that category. It's the reason why I still would like to see Heitinga to play as CB.

Last thing - I recently were checking out some profiles of players who impressed me this season and it was sad to see how many of them were relatively uknown and cheap before they joined their current club. I still believe Moyes should stick to what's he is best at - do a risky signings of player with potential, who are not fully developed yet or just are going through some rough career time.

I am really disappointed that we never went for players like Lee (I guess he was offered through all Premier League clubs by his agency, don't see Bolton actually scouting him), Mbokani or N'Zogbia when he was leaving Newcastle and it was clear he has a big potential. This are kind of signings that can move us forward, and not a big signings we hope for, which are usually not happening. Even if we would get somebody like Eagles last summer he would help us tremendously and he was available for around 1.5m. Now he would be probably much more expensive, as Burnley is in a very good financial situation (they earned a big money on their one year in Premier League, as they didn't invest in their squad keeping wage situation under strict control), Eagles re-signed for 2 years and Burnley is fighting for a play off spot.

Regarding Charlie Adam - it really concerns me that Moyes brother is working as an agent. Is such a dirty business, even if I consider Moyes to be a decent person, sooner or later it will hurt us, not sure how exactly, but usually this kind of connections make me suspicious and not trusting people involved. There's just no decency through whole agency business.

Moyes brother being Adam's agent can probably help us getting him, but just for that factor, I'm struggling to persuade myself that we should sign him.

I'm not familiar with other 3 names, so will have to trust you on that.

I'm familiar with Taarabt though - great skills, no brain, as he has a Mido's disease, which makes him not fitting to any team which is trying to play as a proper footballing team.

Edit: Just read LCAB post regarding Heitinga's future in the other thread, usually I'm very skeptical when majority of fans is questioning player's attitude and wants him gone, but this one actually looks legit. Damm.

I think if we are all honest we know that we are badly rubbish at Transfer Windows. Nothing ever happens, well not to us, and we should prepare ourselves for the same this time.

Then if something does then it will be a nice suprise.

Been reading that Chelsea youngster Fabio Borini is up for sale in January. 19 year old defender meant to be one of the worlds best prospects but is out of favour over their and not getting a chance.

Well worth a shout
