Personally I don't agree. He's a good player, certainly not a great player. And if someone offered 30m or more then I'd certainly not lose any sleep. He hasn't a creative bone in his body. His style has its pros and cons too. Yes he at times wins it high which is great, but equally it's his achilles heal and he lacks discipline on a regular basis. His passing matrices are not good either, he's not an effective pivot.

Tierney seems like the biggest no brainer going. 20 years old, we can guarantee him a lot of football, long term contract and should he fulfil his potential we'll get a heft fee in the future.

Aye, the ideal would have been upgrade for immediate first team duties / phasing Baines out and a promising youngster (Think Stones or Holgate) to bring through in the coming seasons.

We did take out the loan mate, people who know about these things suggest its a standard business practice, a bridging loan to cover an existing credit elsewhere, but then of course the people with agendas will suggest it means we are skint, the truth is probably somewhere in between.
