He's bigging up McAleny again, so maybe that's the plan. Fair dues, he is 22 now, so if he's ever gonna make it he'll need to have an impact sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure how much the wage bill went up back in the summer, but it's likely to have been significant given the new tv cash was up for grabs and we re-signed players on new and long term contracts...plus Eto'o of course.

I would take Mcmanaman. I am a bit biased, but he is a big Evertonian as is his old man.
I have followed his career with interesting. He is two footed, quick enough and a good finisher. He doesn't have the flair of a lot of other wingers but he is very effective. He is still young, only 23 and his best years are ahead of him. Most importantly, he has worked well under Martinez before.
