That is simply not true.
Nobody is questioning his talent but even last season under CA it was clear that James only played when he felt like playing and more often than not declared himself unfit.
There is nothing happening this season that didn't happen last season.
On the 17th of Oct, he was injured playing against Liverpool which resulted in him being treated from Oct 18th to Oct 24th.
Everyone thought it was Carlo mind games but it wasn't. He came back to play against Southampton on Oct 25th, he was still carrying the injury, and the decision to play him backfired and resulted in the groin injury flaring up and he was out from Oct 26 to Nov 6. This period of him having the groin injury from VVD tackle coincided with us losing three on the bounce.
The calf injury occurred after the Burnley game and resulted in him being out from Dec 6th to Dec 31st (25 days). This calf problem was not treated properly and recurred causing him to be laid up from Feb 7th to Feb 13th and then again with the same calf injury from Feb 22nd to Apr 1st (38 days). This recurrent calf issue is discussed by a Physiotherapist in the link below.
Marca spoke with a physiotherapist to discuss why Everton's James Rodríguez keeps having calf injuries.

These are the facts of the matter but some are seemingly buying into the spin, which is disappointing but not unexpected.
