Im not saying I want us to sign him - but if we did sign him he's an improvement on 3 of our current CM options so its hardly worth a meltdoon is it?

Origi has played 100 games for the scum an he is poo. Phil Jones as played 165 times for United an so Is he. It’s not a good argument a lot of average crap has played a lot of games for top sides. Everton an any team trying to compete shouldn’t be buying the terrible fringe players of teams we are trying to compete with.
I think he’s decent and I think he’s better than all except Doucoure and Allan.
If he was a free like Townsend or a steal like Gray I don’t think anyone would complaint about improving the squad.
However, if we aren’t able to spend loads of money and have, let’s say two 20 odd mil transfers to make before the end of the window and one of them is wasted on Winks, I’d be fuming.
Right now though, that hasn’t happened, so I’m not fuming.

In my opinion to have players ostracized from the team is never a good way to instil discipline in a team. It only causes more problems than it solves, it also shows a complete lack of any real management ability. I would rather see James included in the squad and being a part of the team but if thats not possible and the manager doesn't want him fair enough but the way this is being handled smacks of koeman levels of management of niasse. Poor as well when you consider James has qualities in his game that nobody in our squad even remotely come close to. Like i said if the manager doesn't want him fair enough but try to handle it with a bit of class for me, plus if he's involved in the squad maybe some of his qualities could rub off on some of the younger lads who knows.

No real events are happening, buddy. When we make those big signings you promised us I'm sure I'll be delighted. They're still happening right? You haven't been making as many proclamations recently, so I just wanted to check.
James only came to Everton because of CA , I think that is agreed by everyone.
Last season Carlo protected James, played him when he felt fit and made excuses when James wasn't up for a game...... I don't think that is too controversial either.
I think James got treatment from the manager that no other player got and was certainly closer to the manager than any other player in the squad.... that is what brought James to the club in the first place. But, I can understand if that annoyed other members of the squad.
James started the season brilliantly but as the season moved on he became far less effective, but I think we may need to look at the manager as well to see why that happened.
If Carlo stayed then James stayed, but as soon as Carlo left then James did not want to stay at Everton but unfortunately for him there does not appear to be clubs around that want him or can afford him.
The new manager certainly is not the arm around the player type of manager , reading reports from players that worked with him previously he is very demanding and always wanting more.... that is what made him successful and the teams he managed successful also.
James , like all great players, has an ego and at the moment his ego is bruised and he is passing comments on social media that would best be kept to himself , he is a professional and should act accordingly.
I would like if he could stay and contribute but I think it is clearer each day that won't happen, but equally clear that for all his talent and ability there is a scarcity of clubs that are willing to take him, including CA at Madrid.

My instinct tells me he probably wants to leave ever since Ancelotti left. If that's the case, then we should allow him to go

Right, so 5 players of bettet than average quality.
Add in a couple with a point to prove.
Add in a manager with thicker skin than a crocodile who cares not one bit for reputation
The team will be fine without James.
Some of them might actually grow with a bit of creative responsibility and clear instruction.
If they don't they'll eventually be replaced.
Our biggest problem (and our owner) is impatience.

And thats a fair point the reason I wouldn't sign him is exactly for what you say he isn't worth £25+ million.
£15 million rising to say £18 million with crazy add ons like us getting into the CL I wouldn't be fussed providing we offload Gomes/Delph and their combined £160k-180k a week or so wages.
Our fans call most players crap - Lingard, Ings, Zaha, Rice, Ward Prowse have all been labelled "average" over the years most of our fans couldn't spot a decent player unless they were foreign with a fancy name like Sandro Ramirez.

But is he really that much of an upgrade? Again why would we drop £20m on a Spurs castoff who is coming in to his peak when there are much better players on the continent who are worth a gamble instead? I'd rather sign Longstaff for less than £10m

He missed the final game because he wasn’t fit, as proven by him not being able to compete at Copa America. Unless the Colombian national side are in on this mystery too?
