James McCarthy

I don't rate McCarthy at all. And of the 3 you mentioned he would demand the biggest fee. I'm pretty sure we could get our money back. And 13mil could be handy for other parts of the team

By keeping him as say 4th choice? Your just blocking the path for the youngsters Davies & Walsh.

If, come Feb 1st, our centre mid options looked something like...

- Gueye (will be at ACON)
- Barry
- New signing (Schneiderlin or the like)
- Barkley
- Davies

I think we'd have had a very decent window

Schneiderlin: I'd love to know what the big deal is about that player.

Celtic have supposedly brought in 30+ Million as a direct result of their Champions League exploits and are interested in McCarthy

I doubt we'll make our 13 Million back, but we could get some considerable change for him

If you look at Celtic fans on Twitter, they really want him. I mean, they're desperate to sign him

If he's not in Koeman's plans, we might be able to cash in on him

I could see us getting between 7-10 Million for him if we play hard ball

Ideally, I'd like him to stay, but if a good bids on the table and we're getting replacements in, it might be worth considering
Swap for Dembele.

Was ace at S'ton - properly ace.

Suppose if we could get him and he recovered that form, he'd be ideal.

Has the legs that Barry doesn't, but is equally as decent on the ball. Perfect for a 4-3-3

File Schneiderlin under the category "Jack of all trades, master of none".

Does a bit of attacking and a bit of screening...neither to a great standard.

Which is better than all of our midfielders as it stands?

As a box-to-box player who is likely to be available, I think he'd be ideal.]

That being said, he's played hardly any minutes so there is a bit of a risk.

He's a very good midfielder Dave, exactly what we need
I cant see that. He's been hopeless at United. Even the feller who bought him didn't give him a starting place most weeks. If he was to play a bit further up the pitch for us, where would that leave Barkley? Are we really saying we want to replace a thoroughbred with a donkey derby nag?
