2025/26 James Garner

Certainly deserves to be in the England squad with all what he's contributed this season.
It's an interesting one because twelve months ago I would've said he had no chance. England were looking absolutely stacked in midfield but a lot of those players have been injured or out of form since and some of the more promising players are those with no or few appearances for England (e.g. Anderson (6 caps), Barnes (1), Garner (0), Gibbs-White (6), Wharton (3)). I think the squad selection is going to be very interesting and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the upcoming squads for friendlies give some relatively untested players an opportunity.

I think maybe if he played like this last season he would of got into the squad.
But i feel that Tuchel probably has his list of 23/24 players already with so little time until the world cup and only injury's would change anything

You're probably right but there are a couple of players regularly in the squad that don't seem to offer a great deal. Henderson is the obvious one (although maybe he is England's Coleman?) but people like Loftus-Cheek have made a couple of squads so I don't know if it is a completely closed shop. To be honest, I'd rather Garner has the summer off personally. Between FIFA, Infantino, Trump, Qatar etc... I no longer really give a toss about international football.

With a 26 man squad, I don’t think he’ll be going personally.

In a smaller squad he’s much more valuable as he can cover several positions - just like he has with us this season. But with 26, you can take specialists in each area. Heck, you could even take a penalty specialist who would only ever see grass if it came to a shoot out.
