I think we should’ve got another striker in. But I understand that you need a squad of more than 11 players and that James Garner clearly will play plenty of football matches this season and beyond, I’m puzzled as to why this seems to be a foreign concept to you.

Because unlike you it’s clear to me we have finite resources to spend on players. At this stage of our development we need to improve the starting XI as evidenced by our league position.

Garner does improve our starting XI. As I and many others have said, we aren’t going to be playing the same starting XI every single game for 38 games, and Garner is here for 5 years and Gana is 33.

McNeill is the one we should never have considered.
How do we need him? We have plenty who can play out wide...Townsend cant be that far off: he reckons maybe October or just after the World Cup latest. And if you dont have a target man it's pointelss anyway, because that's McNeill's strength: hitting balls in to a forward of that nature.
That cash for McNeill could and should have paid for a new striker.
