Disgusted with the way the bbc did it on focus earlier.

I'm sorry for his loss, but if he'd been a council estate chav, he'd have been ragged by the media, been sacked from his job, the lot.

As he's a PL footballer it's a massive tragedy, and now he's given all sorts of sympathy, the tragic piano muzak & that?

And he gets to keep his job?!

Well I'm sorry, but NO! Nobody forced him to sniff the sherbert. He knew the risks; but it appears it's ok if you're a footballer as normal world rules don't apply.

I'd think most bosses would make exceptions in such horrendous circumstances.

I know I would.

You're missing the point mate. He's encouraging other young men to talk and seek help before they hit rock bottom.
If that saves one life what's he's done has been worth it.

He lost his son.

He lost his son.

I'm aware of that, and I've expressed my sympathy for his loss.

That doesn't mean it makes it alright for him to go on a cocaine binge. Doesn't mean he should keep his job, when thousands, nay, millions of others wouldn't.

For all we know he could've been doing the sherbert for years prior to his lad's demise. Not unheard of, is it?

A binge? if you watched the interview you'd have known it was nothing to do with the drugs, and as you've pointed out ' for all we know ' it may not have been a 'binge'. The likelihood of him going on a binge as professional footy player would have been identified a very long time ago.

You're taking the view they should have thrown the book at him and made an example of him because he was struggling to come to terms with the loss of a child. Your view isn't shared by many mate.

No I'm not. I'm saying if that happened to a council estate chav, do you think they'd get the sympathy the media's afforded livermore?

Would they shabbite, dead child or no. They'd be pilloried. He's no different.

I'm not arsed who shares my view. Fowler (Allegedly) did the beak, there are rumours of all sorts of players who dabble but haven't been caught, so don't bother trying to make out that it's just not possible to go undetected.

So because a council estate chav wouldn't get sympathy then he shouldn't either? nonsensical...Maybe they both should
