There seems to be a confusion between the two rumours doing the rounds. One is that Rodwell is going for 18.6M and with our sell on clause we will make 5M. The other rumour is that he is going for 10M and that we will make 3M from the deal.
So it seems people are taking a bit from both rumours and putting them together

so assuming we get a couple million pounds from City for his transfer, it will make up for the couple million we had to pay them to sign Barry on a permanent deal.

I doubt the initial fee will be anywhere near 10 large, I remember SS first saying the RS were signing Lambert for 9mill then it actually turned out to be 4mill.

Sell on fees are normally based on profit over and above initial fee!

I've we've managed to negotiate 50% of ANY sell on then someone has played an absolute blinder!

Technically, The lads got it all, two good feet, good range of passing, got a shot on him,quick, strong, can go past players.

Unfortunately the complete lack of confidence, drive, desire and awareness in his head render him utter garbage.

On paper he has good technical ability combined with impressive physical attributes, which he demonstrated on a fair number of occasions at Everton.

Shame that he's made of glass.

Right move for rodwell will be in sunderlands first 11 so will get games and only 23 so has time to prove his ability he just needs to stay fit

Aye. He was on course for a career-defining performance in that derby before Suarez cheated him off it. A strong-willed character would've continued that form once back from the ban. Rodwell's head seemed to go down. Not the type of player we need right now.

Nice lad, hope he does well at Sunderland.
