Young,

Young, English, an international. I'd say it was a good deal - IF he can stay fit.

Exactly. When City bought him everyone went mad saying we didn't demand enough from City because of his credentials. I hope the boy does (rod)well, he's had a terrible tim since moving to City.

I think it's a better deal for City than for Sunderland. City's lost ~£2mil in 2 years on a player who's hardly played is great. As for Sunderland, £10mil is a huge gamble, but if managed (rod)well he'll pay it off.

Ridiculous fee really. £10m for a player who's made 16 league appearances in 2 seasons.

Having said that I think he could be good if he ever escapes the prison that is his own head, and good luck to him. Not like he forced his way out is it?
I bet Sunderland would have to get into the CL for the fee to hit £10m! I can't see them paying anywhere near that amount as a base fee. I'd imagine that it's also heavily linked to appearances, given his injury record. If not, the Mackems have mugged themselves off.

We will get 400k for him as a solidarity contribution for sure. Do we have any % for him as a sell on fee as well?

1) £10m is wayyyy too much money.

2) I'd be amazed if he makes more than 5 appearances this season.

3) Remember when Moyes played him on the wing against QPR? Hahaha that was a right laugh.

Signed on a 5 year deal. Wow, big risk. He could could play 5 games next season then get injured. Or he could play the whole season, live up to his expectations and be sold to Chelsea for £28mil.

£10 million is actually nothing these days, and he was fit all or most of last season, just was not picked.

He got 2 Englnd caps when he was getting regular games, he is a good player.
