Jack Rodwell

Sunderland gave him the contract and were happy to do so at the time. He walks away he'll lose 7 million - and no matter how much you WANT to play (which I doubt) who walks away from 7 mill, even if you have 25 mill in the bank.

Or got to Preston and earn 10K per week and play? I'd take the money every time.

Definitely a centre back.

Despite

David Moyes
Peter Taylor
Roberto Mancini
Brian Kidd
Manuel Pellegrino
Gus Poyet
Dic Advocaat
Sam Allardyce
Simon Grayson
Chris Coleman

all watching him in training and deciding that wasn’t his best position. But he played there when he was a kid, against actual children rather then hardened professional footballers, and did fine..

Really?! I get not rating him and being pleased we got shot of him but I can't imagine finding the emotional energy to hate Jack Rodwell, I didn't think anyone cared enough about him for that. He's probably one of the most meh type players to ever play for us.

Yeah this, nowhere near hateable, but footballing wise he was the equivalent of water porridge.

What'll likely happen is, he will either get a huge payoff or run down his contact whilst every few months saying he is desperate to play.

Contract over he will hope a decent club signs him, say a Wolves or Southampton. Reality will kick in once he is signed on a free by Barnsley or Fleetwood. Once he finds a new lower division team his appetite for football will completely vanish and he will retire once his contract is mutually terminated.

He will always be known as a millionaire bellend like David Bentley and those type of players who could have had it all but instead threw it all away.

Didn't Bentley retire when he was 26 or something? Winds me up that someone is born with a talent that we would all kill for and can't be arsed.. all the time clubs are paying them millions just incase they do actually start trying and become good.

What amazes me is how clubs don’t recognise the poor attitude and lack of determination at an earlier age , or is it something that lots of money and financial security for life brings about
