2025/26 Jack Grealish

Loans made sense because they were useful for playing games with profit reporting, but PSR is done after this season. With SCR (squad cost ratio), Manchester City should be incentivized to make a straight sale that removes his wages and amortization from their squad costs. A loan wouldn't do that.
They would prefer to sell obviously but the loan fee and wages paid/shared would mitigate the expense with SCR, just like it would PSR.

Does anyone know if he’s expected to play again this season? I have no idea how long injury takes to heal after a surgery.

Injured 18th Jan
Operation 9th Feb
Usually a 3 month injury

That would leave Sunderland 17th May and Spurs away 24th May as possibilities......BUT....Jack himself posted "didnt want my season to end this way but I'll come back fitter and stronger".

So, I'm assuming he thinks he's done for the season, though I'm hopeful we might just see him again on the bench ready to come on and score a blammo to secure European togger for us.

I think we've missed him massively the past 7 games.

I'm hoping we get to see Jack Grealish play again in an Everton shirt; it's good to have quality players in the team.
Was commenting how this is the first time I remember spurs having no world class footballers in their squad.
In contrast we have had so few… Grealish is a treat to us.

I really think Jack wants to be here next season but the club will probably try for a loan . Nobody is going to pay a fee for him ( In Europe ) with his current wages so high .
Best case scenario, he comes back as a loan and gets released at the end of next season .
What's he played by end of season, even 20 games I doubt? for 1 or 2 goals and a couple of assists, for £1m a month or something.

I was glad to see him try, your opening point is spot on. 👍

Too old, too slow, now injury prone. Other younger, faster, fitter, cheaper players now having to improve and man up, and they're doing so (KDH, Garner, front two, Illy etc all doing ok lately ). Tyrique now needs a run.

It's crazy money he's on and for the amount of football he can play, we can fix both FB positions for the same money... And therefore release guys like Seamus and still be better off cash wise!

Expensive gamble that hardly proved a success ( not saying Jack hasn't been genuine or not tried ) , need to fix other bigger priorities that will make more difference to us.

See if he's up for 200k a game and how enthusiastic he is to be at EFC then. No one after him in top 6, not much pace, spent too long sitting down at City!

But anyway he's a Moyes fan, a bit of a charmer and can do well timed toe poke passes to other players down our formidable left side with er, Myko, so I can guarantee he'll be here start of next season.

I agree that we've missed him or certainly someone to play that position.
I guess the key question is what is he worth to us and could we get someone better on that deal.
Unless the transfer fee is very low and Jack reduces his current wage substantially id prefer us to look elsewhere.

You make some decent points amigo even if they are made in a pejorative way.

I am sure we'll find out in the summer mate. I think Moyes will want him back and will ask the board/recruitment team to make the numbers work.

Unless George starts getting some minutes, he won't be back here. No reason for him to swap the Chelsea bench for ours and Dibling is a conundrum Moyes needs to solve. So weve currently got 1 top drawer option (Illy) who is better on the left but has to play on the right when Jack is fit

I'm absolutely sure that Moyes will want him back , he loves and trusts him.

You can see why. He's a team player who gives everything and can be trusted defensively.

My concern with Jack is two fold. Firstly it's whether the deal works financially but secondly I do think that whilst he never gives the ball away he does slow down our play on transmission and I wonder if we would be better with a quiver more direct player like Sarr at Palace.

Sorry, 😟 fuming waiting for train...

I don't dislike Jack, he's genuine and has connected with the fans and improved us at times. Work rate not questioned either.

Just smacks of bad decision making elsewhere. Getting injured after his lack of football was such a risk.

He can pick a pass too which we need others to do in the team.
