2025/26 Jack Grealish

Injury, one goal and huge salary (preventing us fixing 2 X FBs , which would have a waaaay bigger impact ).

Three reasons to let ole Jack plod on elsewhere. Please grab Seamus and Gana on the way...

He had a few assists though and scored at least two goals … palace and Bournemouth off the top of my head

He’s quality footballer and we have been starved of them since James left

anyone chatting g/a numbers as a negative when it comes to Grealish simply does not understand football
The quality of analysis with modern football is truly awful isn't it. People think they can Google goals and assists, reference trophies won, or bring up an injury list from transfermarkt, and use that for or against a player. Context is everything, but understanding that requires half a brain

If there is one thing this club - and team - is crying out for it's a bit of quality. If any kind of a deal can be done in the summer, get it done. I'll put up with agricultural football if the results justify it, but fundamentally football is supposed to be a form of entertainment - not an attritional penance. Grealish is a player anybody would be happy to watch. You can't say that about most players - and you certainly cannot say it about all of ours. If his salary demands are reasonable (I don't use the working class term of "wages" when discussing the outrageous remuneration of fabulously wealthy footballers), then I'm sure anybody who enjoys watching a little artistry on a football pitch will be delighted to see Jack back again. We've had nothing like this since James.

Add in the fact KDH got injured and N’Diaye went to the ACON and he was basically our only creative player in the team for a period of time and still be doubled marked by teams.

Can't work out if we already have an agreement for next season or of he's desperate to sign. I think we could potentially get better value elsewhere
I really think Jack wants to be here next season but the club will probably try for a loan . Nobody is going to pay a fee for him ( In Europe ) with his current wages so high .
Best case scenario, he comes back as a loan and gets released at the end of next season .

At best, he's spent.

Illy better in the same role, just needs pacier forwards to link up with etch we could get with Jack's money.

Just don't agree at all. There's room for both of them in the team.

Ndiaye is a more gifted dribbler and a bigger goal threat, Grealish is the more intelligent of the two and will create more but will also put other players into positions to create.

Give Grealish a left back who can be trusted with the ball and the axis of Branthwaite, Grealish, KDH and a competent left back would be exciting in that left channel

Yeah don't disagree per se.

My point is more what we could accomplish for the same money.

Jack will have played what 20 games by the end of season, maybe? Older, slower, risk of reinjury,blah... 1 or 2 goals...

KDH, 6 goals, a fraction of the money plus resale.

Jack's an expensive gamble, that came and through crappy summer business. his lack of pace inevitably draws opposition players into his left side, yes, and he can then bring others into play. It's also very predictable...

I think he's tried, too, no doubt. Respect.

But I'd spend the same money on 2 X decent FBs and a CF and it would do more for EFC than Jack nursing his foot, unfortunately.

A LOT more.

But he's tried, and has shown respect to the club and gets the thumbs up for that. There's not a big queue for him in the top 6 on his money... Cold fact.

That’s also a massive consideration for me …

He actually seems like he wants to be here

I’d rather that than convincing someone to come to “lowley Everton” by throwing money at them …

We didn’t that with Koeman , Morgan and a glut of others and it’s backfired massively
