All I would say is the quicker we get out wide (yeah, right) the more central he'd need to go.
Which bit... Jack's on 250k a week or thereabouts right... 1 goal, right and won't play again this season most probably.ha ha what a load of poo

Rohl, Dibling, Aznou, what positive impact this season ( either have not had a chance, i.e. Adam, or done little with it... Rohl / Dibling)?
Ok Barry is trying but still raw.
And tactically we don't see much from Illy who's one of the best dribblers going straight at defenders in the prem. But he's frequently isolated.
So my points are spot on:
- crap FB's , not replaced, no speed width or balls in, effects us EVERY GAME
- MF like Garner sucked back, CB's out of position, risking injury btw too
- poor / unused signings ( which don't change the problems above )
- a single high-cost high-risk gamble in Jack, who himself needs a replacement in George, cos he's not available for an outside run at Europe.
This is BEYOND DAFT!
I get we're safe, but that owes in a part to way the season panned out in terms of quality elsewhere, a couple of away wins... We're close to relegation still without those freak results, where it was an opportunity to jump into Europe which would drastically alter our recruitment picture.
Half this squad isn't good enough or young enough, the summer and Xmas business didn't help, and the football is awful.
Or ...
Yes, we're safe. Let's all sit down and strap ourselves in for another season of this.
This is literally what my partner and I say at the point our son smiles and wiggles out of homework.he’s ours![]()
Unfortunately, that seems to be the case. Football is rather dull at the top level now. Although, I watched the Juventus vs Galatasaray game last night and it was an old school end to end barn burner, so we do occasionally get exciting football but it is increasingly rare and has been replaced by the drilled phases of play never ending running that we see now, particularly in the premier league it seems. It's very effective but utterly tedious. We do have the modern day grealish warming the bench. Beyond that, English football is pushing that player out of the game.
We are in another transitional cycle of player profiles to the detriment of exciting players.
The most naturally gifted players will fall by the curb, over systematically trained athletes..
This makes no sense and is how clubs end up like we were after the post-Moshiri splurge. He's clearly a very good player but he is too expensive at his current wage, and with a fee chucked on top of that, for a player that will be pure expense. £60+ million for 3 seasons is a big expense for a club in our financial position with £0 recoverable. £60+ million for a 21 year old for three years with a potential big fee at the end of it is a bigger risk on the playing side but a much lower risk for the financial health and ongoing success of the club.I still think we should sign him no matter the price, but I'm confident the club will get the negotiations right.
The injury is a concern, but you don't throw away a player of his quality to gamble on some younger players who may or may not work out.
His presence is a difference of minimum 15 points for us in a season - and he doesn't rely on pace so he can keep going for 2-3 seasons easily.
He also takes the pressure of the other players with his ball keeping ability which has been incremental in getting those away wins this season
I'd be up for that if I thought we were looking to replace Keane, Gana and Tarkowski but I do not believe that we are. I would also want Grealish to take a wage lower than £250k a week. That is unsustainable for us.Whilst we should be refreshing the squad and consistently looking to bring the squads age down, you do sign quality when possible, especially quality which wants to join you.
Grealish for circa 20m we should be all over.
The old ones you get rid of, are obvious. Keane and Gana. With the view of Tarks moving the season after.
Doesn't he only have one year left on his City contract?Loan with £20m obligation please.
Tremendous player, never relied on his pace and has a good few years in him.

Ah, like a Gareth Barry type deal. With the new financial rules coming in next season maybe there is a deal to be done. I'm conflicted on this because he is a good player and seems a good fit for the club in terms of his demeanour but he is very expensive, particularly for his age.Yeah its why I put obligation rather than option.
I read a while back we would try a loan for him, but they wouldn't loan him without getting something - I figure maybe obligation in Jan.
