Saw him live not long after he went to City. His role was to stand on the touchline stretching the back 4. If by some accident he got the ball, he was allowed to slowly dribble toward the box, right back reversing, faking the odd trick but solely to back the defender up and attract a double team. Then had to lay it back to the left back behind him or to KDB/Silva on the edge of the box. That was it.

Was immediately clear, he would be very rich, pick up some medals, but as a player had destroyed his career and threat.

Feel a bit sorry for him as he can’t have foreseen that’s all he’d get used for after the maverick he was for Villa, with total freedom to change games.

No thanks. I struggle to see what role he could play in our current side, especially considering that Ndiaye is far better on the left wing. If we are to sign a winger, it ought to be a right winger to provide us with the right-sided version of Ndiaye.
