Its one of the 2 possible things we are going to win in the short-medium future and we have lost to a poor side again. I disagree that it is a small thing, I am sure the 5000 others there tonight agree.
I wouldn't say we've got no chance at the FA Cup.Yeah, its a joke of a trophy, that 5000 Evertonians went to watch tonight.. Yeah, they deserved the 'lads who needed a game'.. Behave will you, its our only real chance of winning anything and we produce that performance.
I wouldn't say we've got no chance at the FA Cup.
We've hardly been brilliant in the league cup, though - why would this season be different?Mate, better teams than us take that cup seriously. We have spewed our most recent chances of sucess in the FA Cup.. why would this season be different ?
It could have been different as we could have been one of the few Prem teams who took it seriously from the start. Its only my opinion Azzurri, but if we had gone full strength tonight, we would have gone through. Its all about getting that first trophy in the cabinet as a manager..
I'd expect this thread on RAWK after a loss; not GOT.
It's a "now we're not in it it doesn't matter" thread, which is nonsense.
Our most realistic chance of European football come the end of the season has just gone.

I'm staggered people think that it's ok I really am , it was a trophy we probably had the best 'chance of winning' & we made wholesale changes and again never turned up. People seem excited that we can concentrate on finishing 5th or 6th, it's a trophy something we haven't won for 18 years and I'm amazed by that reaction
Just posted the exact same on the "Get a Grip" thread (can't we merge these?).
I can only suspect that people thinking we can concentrate on 6-8th spot in the league are youngsters, and weren't around when we won cups at Wembley and Rotterdam. Best days of my life. Granted, they weren't as fulfilling as the league (although pretty damn close - success is success in my mind) but they still meant so much. The memories will never leave me - I can still remember each occasion as if it was only yesterday. Even what I wore.
That is what football is all about. Nothing else matters.
We should be putting out the strongest sides in the cup.
Am I the only one who thinks this?
The devaluing of this competition started with the Sky 4 having to give some of their very expensive fringe players game time.
On our day we could beat anyone. City are already out. Is will be another season where you think if only we tried in the League Cup we could have won it.
6 changes for an away trip in the cup. My arse.
