It Was Fifty Years Ago Today

Signed as a midfielder finished up at right back i think... Ball was simply irreplaceable and definitely world class, a goalscoring pocket dynamo, who was a born winner. My favourite ever Everton player.
He ended up at right back after and injury plus lost his hammer...... lol

It would be like trying to replace Messi replacing Bally..... He should never have been sold .......

Snap, absolutely gutted and couldn't believe it. Catterick was always a cold hearted business man.
The Catt had lost the plot - when we won the league only the season before he stated if anyone offered 1/2 a million for Bally - they were wasting their time - 14 months later after playing him with injury sold him for £225, 000 -

Bally was also on high wages plus perks at Arsenal, which caused resentment in the Arsenal dressing room - they never suited his style of play as they were a long ball team - there were only flashes of his brilliance at Southampton in his twilight of his career.....

Funny how Kevin Richardson was also sold to them & he played well there to win the Championship many years later......

We also sold Geoff Barnett an up & coming Keeper to Arsenal where he replaced Bob Wilson & won a FA cup with them .....

We did off load an injured crocked Francis Jeffers to them, who flopped there..... then we bought him back ?.......

Off Them DM signed goalkeeper Richard Wright plus we go Trevor Ross in the 1970s who was not too bad ......

Recently we got Iwobi - say no more ........

Just avoid any more deals with Arsenal :D
