It is the sheer suddenness of it.

To be fair Wigan went from conceeding 51 in Bruce's first season and 45 in Bruce's last season to conceeding 79 goals in Martinez's first season, with the exact same defenders and 61 in his second season...

This season were just 8 goals from matching last years total conceeded so in actual fact it's not really sudden, we're progressing nicely.
lol

And we are getting more relegated Wigan players in to the side too.

Slip slide away

Less than a month ago it all looked so rosy.

We seemed to have put the bad start in the league behind us and we're on a good little run.

Lost one in seven or something and that only because De Gea had the game of his life at OT.

We had put the EL group to bed in Wolfsburg and it was upwards and onwards as we arrived at the Lane.

And for twenty minutes Spurs coukdn't get a kick of the ball.

Everton sparkled.

Then it all went Pete Tong.

Spurs turned it around......we couldn't beat Hull.....and we sleepwalked through the City game.

The one win we had, over QPR, was unconvincing.

And now three defeats in a row.

Nowt we can do now but hope things go back to what they were a month ago.....starting at Hull on January 1st.

Come on Bobby......make it right again....;)

It's the hope that does for you... that and living in a 'kin dream world

No, it really didn't. Not being harassed by the EL sides like we are the PL sides didn't change the fact that sides were looking to take us apart in the league. We were a damp squib going out of the worthless cup to Swansea. The gloom has been sat on the players for months and some good luck and some good goals has not at any point lifted the spirits and attitudes of players and supporters alike.

We need less 'titting about with the ball at the back' it is completely undermining the games of every player we have. Pragmatism was called for months ago, and not by just one or two voices but by entire legions.

Opposition fans are laughing themselves stupid at how the boo's ring out around Goodison every game. If the laughter isn't helping it sink in, then the boo's in the first place ought to be.

I dont think it is sudden, we tailed of last season and have never got going again. This season we have won once against a team that gave us a game, the Europa games dont count for anything, just mask the reality.

I was a little concerned yesterday though that we had 4 players on the pitch who were involved in Wigan's relegation

The spine of the team (GK,CH, and CF) were all ex-Wigan and tasted relegation. And let's not forget that the majority of the coaching staff are ex-Wigan, and presumably on board with RMs 'philosophy' when undertaking their work.

Bingo

Spot on mate

It was actually the Southampton game around that time when I thought we'd been sussed, nullify the threat down the wings and there you have it, a result against Everton
Yip easily Sussed and never mended or adapted
Pass, Lose, Repeat

If all that is correct, I don't doubt you but does it show RM has not a clue about defence.
