It does look like it's the usual second half surge

By my reckoning we have lost just two of our last 14 games.
I'm not being churlish about the number of draws, they bring points.
It is interesting we have been missing some key players during this period, giving food for thought on what is actually our best line up when everyone is fit.
I feared the season was dying, clearly not - but can people please refrain from asking about FA Cup semi-final ticket arrangements. Sunderland fans are in overdrive about this... cocky people!!

To be honest i'm fed up of our second half surges.

When is it time to start a season well?

I've had enough of our seasons starting in January. It's annoying.

I think the second half surge stuff doesn't fit this season at all. It should be remembered that after the first 7/8 games many were saying we'd bucked that trend and had a better start than the previous two seasons. We then went into a lull a couple months nefore Christmas; now we have a few results again.

Undulating is what I'd describe this season as, not a 'V-shaped recovery' as per the previous few seasons.

After 8 games:

2008/09 - 8 points
2009/10 - 11 points
2010/11 - 9 points
2011/12 - 10 points

I also believe we had a very similar points tally at the end of last year as we did at the end of 2010. It's been very similar to last season really. Keep in mind that many people said the football we were playing before Christmas was the worst in years too.

I was convinced there would be no second half of the season surge, as it was simply too stale.

I think the shady board knew this too and pulled out LD, Gibson, etc to freshen things up.

I stand by the opinion that if we hadn't brought in some new faces, we'd of been screwed. Sometimes Everton really do play it close to the line. All you have to do is look at the club finances.

Wenger and Moyes should sit down in pre-season and discuss how to start a season, and how to end a season. Alls they need to do is swap notes, then both clubs are sorted.
