Is this Season a Flip to the Norm?

Nailed on.

Early season posters talked about our second half of season form like it was cast in stone and not just coincidence - alien mutants.

I hope we can improve, but tbh I can't see it. I think we'll finish 6th or 7th in the league. But maybe we can make it a remarkable season in the FA-Cup.

Pressure.

We always play boss second half of the season because there's no pressure and now it's the other way round we're bottling it.

Correct. And it starts with the manager. He gets more and more uptight the closer we come to actually doing something, whether thats cup or league. Even in 2005 our performance over the second half of the season was appalling.

Am I the only one who thinks we're actually doing OK?

We had a decent January really. OK, a bit of a rough start to Feb but we showed character to pull that Villa result back and we've been beaten by comfortably the best side in the league away.

Hardly a collapse! Oldham, Norwich and Reading coming up - if we go out of the FA Cup or pick up fewer than 4 points from that run, then we can start talking about a crap second half to the season.

Yeah, he might not become uptight, more that he will sticks to what is working and refuses to gamble cos whatw orks is good. Another reason no money to freshen up the team, last year Gibson, Jelevic and Pienaar all came in.

I think it's more that we are playing a bit rubbish mate.

Although saying that, first half today I thought we looked not bad at all. And we were still 2-0 down!

33 points from the opening 19 games, I reckon we'l struggle to repeat that during this second half to the season, even still that wouldn't get us 4th but hopefully we can get 6th and that'll be good enough for a europa place.

TBH we could have a poor 2nd half of the season as the players who are automatic choices look tired & the are some hard away fixtures in our run in - the games we have let slip v lesser sides may haunt us & decisions for instance at home to Newcastle & City away a soft pen given against us all add up to 6-9 points lost imo!
