Is the club challenging Gana's red card?

Doucoure was sent off for putting his hand / palm on Kane’s face

He didn’t even slap him and got sent off

No chance they overturn this red card

Uche punched Tarkowski and got away with it entirely. Probably used a similar amount of force. Subjective rules make talking points but ruin the game.

If you intentionally hit/slap/punch someone else should be a red. Then it’s clear and no subjectivity. But they need to then actually apply it to all.

It won’t be overturned and shouldn’t be. It was stupid. But consistency would be good.

Sounds good but did you see the clip of the playful slap between 2 Chelsea players celebrating a goal? Is that a red?

Needs to be an element of discretion and common sense IMO.

Don’t know why anyone is complaining really, it was a straight Red. The rule states you can’t lift your hand to another player. Do I agree with it ? That doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter how many people disagree with it, within the laws of the game it’s a red card.
And in the immortal words of @Joey66

END OFF

That’s not quite the rule though. It states ‘unless the force used was negligible’. Which is subjective, and needs context.

Violent conduct isn’t just about it being to the face in the rules. Ref could also have fairly easily argued Ganas force was negligible, as that’s another subjective part of it.

But under violent conduct rules, considersation is also given to attempted use of excessive force or brutality regardless of if contact is made (and that part doesn’t specify head or face).

Both incidents fall under the same considerations. One was a straight red, the other didn’t even get a talking to (as far as I can recall).

No they don’t? The guidance is clear that striking the face is treated differently. As I said, the referee could have acted differently but comparing it to what I he did is daft? It’s not the same thing. You could argue that uche used excessive force but we all know he didn’t, so the guidance for the 2 situations is different and pretending it’s not is disingenuous. Uche wasn’t sent off for the same reason Keane wasn’t, the guidance doesn’t suggest he should be.

Grounds for appeal FIFA precedent:

As of November 25, 2025, Idrissa Gueye has a total of 224 appearances and one red card during his Everton career across two separate spells. He was sent off for violent conduct for slapping teammate Michael Keane in a match against Manchester United on November 24, 2025.
Here are Idrissa Gueye's appearances and red cards during his two stints with Everton:
Statistic First Spell (2016–2019)Second Spell (2022–)Total 224

Note: The number of appearances for the second spell and the total reflect the most recent data available, including matches played in the 2025–26 season up to his red card incident.

Can't have Ronaldo missing his last World Cup games can they. He could have cut down five Irish players with a chainsaw and still got his ban rescinded.
