Inter City Fairs Cup 69/70

Anyone know why we didn’t go into the Fairs Cup in 69/70? I think we qualified as we finished 3rd in 68/69 and Arsenal won it and finished 4th. Just curious and seem to find the answer anywhere.

think only 1 club out of a city could qualify for it in them days and if Liverpool finished second they would have been in it instead

Ah makes sense thank you, I thought it was odd! I can’t remember the Fairs cup being a youngster of 52!
