To be fair we looked guilty from the off and when we claimed losses of 170 million due to Covid when Villa documented 50 million and Arsenal said 80 million I thought we would have got pulled in then but somehow got it signed off.
The excuses we put up like Spurs signing Richarlison for 60 million instead of 80 million being a factor was poor to say the least.
Agree with that Richarlison not £80, but maybe a few million more, but seriously why is the Siggurdson claim not mitigated? We could not play him, could not sack him or sell him, who knew this would happen, we lost an asset, for what turned out to be a serious accusation, that had to be mitigating but was judged as not. So lost out on £10m, still had to keep paying his wages.
The more important one, the War in Ukraine, you could say we were the most affected club in the whole Country from that, we lost major ground sponsorship and we also lost training ground sponsorship, that alone was £18m to £24m per year, how was that not mitigating ? That was out of everyone's control, but affected us financially the most. Definitely had an agenda to get us and make an example in my view. Okay our club lied, about some things and we were guilty of a breach, but with them mitigating circumstances, definitely not as much as they are accusing us of. But the punishment far exceeded the crime, most people, pundits and presenters are agreeing with this. Sorry about the essay and of course the War was about the loss of life and suffering, but it has to be mentioned in our case. If you think I'm wrong say so, no problems with that, I might not agree though.
