Impact of injuries

It's not th only reason I admit. But I do think it's a factor.

Fabregas barely played for Barca last year, McCarthy played just about every game when he joined. (Because he's boss like).

It's bound to take its toll.
Logically I agree it should take its toll and it probably does over the long term. It is just that there are so many instances of teams with minimal rotation not having huge injury lists that I'm not convinved how strong the link is between regular games and injury vulnerability and how much is just down to the individual.

Tbh I'm not sure about many things these days - apart from McCarthy being boss ;)

On the flip side it gives someone else the chance to step up and hopefully give us another headache when the usual starter is fit.

It certainly is rubbish.

Have to say Martinez annoys me a bit (shocked faces everywhere) when he says we have a squad to cope with it. That's just a lie.

With the amount we have I do think a lot goes down to how much our better players have to play. Not all of course. And I also wonder if our behind the scenes training etc has something to do with it.

I'm not one to believe in luck. There's a reason for everything.

Those two aren't mutually exclusive, though.

Anyway i'm inclined to believe the whole 'Everton get loads of injuries' thing to be a load of tosh. Every team probably says the same and i imagine any in depth statistical analysis would show that overall every team suffers a similar amount.

Coleman
Jagielka
Distin
Stones
Alcaraz
Baines
Mccarthy
Barry
Gibson
Mirallas
Barkley
Pienaar

and lukaku and oviedo both playing through injury/having post treatment of a past injury on top of the crocked Kone.

No way has any other side had more injuries this season

We've had a fair few but if you look at http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
we're not the only ones to have suffered. Chances are it'll even out a bit in the second half of the season.

Can add to the list Gibson - sent back to Everton with a "minor" knee knock and probably Jags who went straight down the tunnel after limping off late in the England game.

.....yep, could well be without another two for the Hammers. Potentially Gibson, Barry and McCarthy missing from CM, Jagielka and Baines now joining Stones on the sidelines. The squad will be tested.

Just hoping that both Naismith and Barkley miss the Eng/Scot game as with our luck I can see them taking each other out.

On the plus side Mirallas rejoined full training this week.
