All true. But isn't there some sort of quota now that has to be met in terms of the number of home-grown players in the squad? Ergo, all players that fit the home-grown criteria automatically see their purchase price rise. Like Joe Allen to Liverpool, Rodwell to City, Fletcher and Jarvis at Wolves and so on.

Granted, that is something of an argument against my personal hope that Manny Fernandes comes back to us on a free....

If Fellaini is going to be viewed as an attacking midfleider then we definitely need to sign someone new in the centre. Fernandes would be amazing (I'm pretty sure he's still at Besiktas by the way and not on a free transfer at all). How much would Rasmus Elm cost us?

There's no way Heitinga will be going to PSV by the way - he's on massive wages here and I doubt they could offer the same
