All hypothetical, of course, but if you could go back in time and change the result of any 5 Everton games, what would they be?

My list is endless, but I'd firstly go for the FA cup finals in 85 and 86. Would be good to have won the treble in 85, and to stop that lot doing the double in 86. In fact, by also changing our Oxford result in the title run-in, we'd have done the double in 86 instead!

More recently, I'd like to change the Villarreal outcome to see us get into the CL group stage. And I'd also like to have seen us qualify again in Martinez's first season here. I seem to remember it all started to go badly in the palace home game after we'd stuffed Arsenal 3-0. If we'd beaten palace we'd have leapfrogged Arsenal into 4th with only 4 games to go. If I could change that palace result, maybe it'd have knocked the stuffing out of Arsenal instead of us.

If we could somehow change 5, starting at the Kiev away leg, including the 2 QF and 2 SF afterwards, how'd you think we'd have got on in the final?

5 that meant we won something. Not arsed which ones.

I've noticed there seems to be two camps on this. There's those that say winning trophies is the most important thing, versus those who prefer the involvement in the champions league and the cash that brings, even if we win nothing.

What do you think is most important roydo?

85 fa cup final.
09 fa cup final
3-3 vs the [Poor language removed] at goodison last season
Arsenal game at home this season
Kiev away game this season

We'd have got utterly smashed in the Champs League group stages.

Assuming we would've just taken Arsenal's spot in the group stage this past year, I think we would've been group runner ups just like they were.

The other teams with them were Dortmund, Anderlecht, and Galatasaray. Not exactly a strong group.

And then, yeah, Monaco would've given us the boot right quick.

Ah I was talking about the Villareal debacle.
