I've been quite critical of Idrissa Gana Gueye since his return from AFCON. But credit where it's due, he put in an excellent performance today.

Best game he has had for ages plus Tim -

Back on it the last couple of games. Was abysmal before that and should have been dropped.

Even when he plays well though, starting to want to see a different profile of midfield. He does what he’s has done for years brilliantly when he’s in form. Just want to play in a way that doesn’t need/rely on a player like him.

He’s a proper comfort blanket for a manager. They find it so hard to drop him if he’s available.
