How we gonna set up for the derby without Pienaar?

Pienaar has a pretty shocking record in derbies for us so it could be a blessing in disguise.

I only ever remember him battering Lucas 'de best in de world' in the Dan Gosling Derby, and him missing against them at Wembley with Gueye playing instead, everyday of the week i'd have Pienaar over Gueye

The striker was sent off two minutes before half-time in the 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road after being shown a second yellow card for an alleged stamp on Nicky Bailey.

Hornets boss Gianfranco Zola indicated after the match that he would appeal against the decision and the FA have upheld his view.

The 20-year-old, who is currently on international duty with the Czech Republic, will now be available for the clash with Peterborough on 20 October.

You can't appeal a yellow card, even if it results in a sending off.

Aye. Pienaar's gone, we just have to accept it and move on, despite the huge blow.

We need both Fellaini and Gibson back for Liverpool. Even before today, we looked light in midfield.

Assuming both are back:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines
Naismith Osman Gibson Mirallas
Fellaini
Jelavic
If not:

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines
Naismith Osman Neville Oviedo
Mirallas
Jelavic

I thought you could appeal the red card but not the yellow so the yellow still aplys to his total (3) but the red he was shown for the two yellow cards could be appealed against.

Oviedo for me, otherwise what's the point in buying a LB/LM cover if he doesn't play when our first choice LM is unavialable? harsh on gueye but he hasn't done enough when given the chance. Unleash the young oviedo lid, let him show us what he's got. Sterling will play on their left so i'd go coleman RB, it's the only place on the pitch they can hurt us and if he were up against neville, there would be a constant threat over the top. Would also play mirallas on the right with coleman, screaming pace down the right hand side and if sterling doesn't track back as quoted we'll have endless joy.

Along with the pace of Oviedo and Baines attacking, probably glen johnson, who seems to prefer attacking rather than defending, there'll be plenty of chances for boss slotter. With that in mind i'd rather have felli further back and maybe osman behind the striker but we'll see
