How satisfied are you with Moyes' second reign so far?

Until we can prove that our recruitment has improved enough to regularly push for europe (jury still very much out IMO) to me it makes the most sense to stick with a manager that the players like, builds a good culture and has the ability to do a lot with a limited squad.

If you'd have said we'd be pushing for Europe this season when Moyes came in, few would have believed you.

I can deal with a bit of stubborn team selection until we have restablished ourselves as a top half team.

I’m satisfied with him. Where he frustrates is the rigidity in team selection and substitutions despite evidence to the contrary. I feel it’s cost us being top 3 or 4. I’m serious. We’ve shot ourselves in the foot so many times this season and against weak sides. Completely unnecessary.

That said, I’m beyond grateful for the stability, that we don’t even talk relegation anymore, and the confidence he’s instilled in our players. Although we’ve been spiraling for years, when you look at it in only a year or so he’s done some great things for us. I appreciate him and feel he was the right hire and the results are clear. But long-term his age and comfortable and predictable line-ups will hold us back.
Most teams have shot themselves in the foot so I’m guessing that there are no top managers out there.

The dissatisfied and very dissatisfied vote contains some notable forum members. Just consider what they're noted for, like. 😆

Pretty much my take on the season. Stability wise a bit success with too many missed opportunities, but in saying that the players have to take some responsibility for the games when they didn't show up. The effort and intensity shown on Saturday should have been the baseline as we haven't had the number of games that the top sides and the likes of Newcastle and Palace etc in the European competitions have had to play.

I think only a 72 point finish would have left most of us saying Very Satisfied. There have been a few bumps along the way which is why the more pessimistic on here have had to perform some extra bedsheet washing at times.

Satisfied is where I was and where I'd still be currently .

If anything, I feel a little harsh only going "satisfied", because given the most important metric - how we're doing in the league - he's surpassing my expectations presently.

But there's still the niggly David Moyes things that irked me for years in the first term - particularly surrounding things like his use of the squad and substitutions and what have you.

I also don't like this new secretive approach to injuries.

Pre-game and in game, I feel less satisfied with him than I tend to post-game... especially if we've had a good result!

Cons - early cup exits, use of squad and substitutes (particularly the ones we spent a lot of money on). Home form.

Pros - I look forward to my weekends and watching Everton and going into April looking at opportunities rather than fearing relegation.

Very happy for him to stay but he needs to buy into a long term transfer strategy (whilst accepting that immediate performance is the priority).

I've surprised myself and moved from neutral to satisfied...for now

You're only as good as your last game so the saying goes.
NO,
You're last game is now history

You're only as good as your Next game
