People desperate for something that works, who will then believe at the expense of logic.

Same reason people believe in religion.

Or climate change denial.

Well, there is evidence that is incorrect, whether people disagree with it or not - given climate shifts have occurred without the impact of man in the past, so it's reasonable to conclude that periodic, inevitable climate change can occur. There's at least a degree of logic in that, and it's also backed up by doctored figures from scientists constantly changing opinion or being downright wrong.

Whereas there's no evidence religion or homeopathy is correct at all.

Or perhaps because people prefer to use natural remedies rather than chemical cocktails?

Just one example. I use arnica for treatment of sporting injuries and niggles instead of paracetemol or aspirin.

Surely informed choice should be welcomed and encouraged?

theres a massive difference between natural remedies and homeothapy

homeoathapy is a theory with no scientific basis

there are many natural remedies that are proven to work, no problem with those at all

Arnica is proven to a degree to help with bruising particularly. Many natural remedies can help with certain conditions - I know mushroom poisoning is alleviated by milk thistle in some instances, for example.

Homeopathy is proven to help with absolutely nothing. It's not an informed choice, as there's no logical information to support it.

The article is about Homeopathy and not about the use of not medicinal treatments in general. I've just discovered Kineseo Tape for muscle strains/injuries some would consider this as 'home remedy', all in favour over home treatment just some of these so called 'professionals' need to have a look at themselves.

Placebo effect, no real harm in it, but placebo is all it is.
Don't knock the placebo effect by the way. Even when people know they're taking something as a placebo it often helps.

yeah..placebos are used all the time, but they dont make money from selling pretend drugs!
