Player Valuation: £950k
Each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the "Home Grown Player" (HGP) criteria.

The rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be "Home Grown".

Each club squad list is below as well as an additional list of each club's registered Under-21 players who are eligible over and above the squad limit of 25 players.

In Everton's 25 man squad we have

Leighton Baines
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Fabian Delph
Mason Holgate
Alex Iwobi
Michael Keane
Jordan Pickford
Morgan Schneiderlin (signed for Southampton at 18)
Gylfi Sigurdsson (first club was Reading)
Theo Walcott

Tom Davies turns 22 in June so will have to be part of the 8 Home Grown minimum in the 25 squad next season. I don't think Baines should be part of the first-team squad next season because of his age so that would leave 9 home-grown players and 10 if and when Davies is registered as part of the 25.

A Home Grown Player, as defined by the Premier League, is a player who: (a) is 21 or older on January 1 of the year in which that season begins; and (b) spent three years between the ages of 16 and 21 with a team in the English football League system.

Some people want Schneiderlin, Walcott, Sigurdsson out. Others want Pickford and Keane and Iwobi out. If we begin to sell some of the above players, we will need to find players who were based in England for 3 years prior to being 21, to replace them.

Interesting post, I can’t believe the minimum home grown total is only 8!!! Do British/Irish players not qualify? Ie Coleman

This is why we gunned so hard for Zaha and settled for Iwobi. Brands/Marco knew we needed to settle for less than the best as long as they met this criteria.

It's simply if they have been at an English FA club for 3 years or more before the age of 21. This is why people will be going for Declan Rice this summer.

The rule is the reason the "English premium" exists.

Schneiderlin and Siggurdson cannot be sold due to their contracts, so I wouldn't worry too much about the rule for next season. Baines can always be signed to a sinecure contract if the rule becomes an issue.

It is concerning that we would have to pay the premium to replace some of our more saleable assets or risk running afoul of the rule by 2021-22

Richarlison and kean will qualify surely?

No. Like I said if we name a full 25 squad of 21 y/o+ players then 8 of them need to have been with an ENGLISH FA Club for at least three years before they turned 21 y/o.

At what age did watford sign Richie?
Kean would be just few month shy of qualifying as home grown when he turn 21. Shame.

Richarlison signed for Watford when he was 20.

That’s one off the list but not the end of the world when we have Kenny and hopefully gibson register next season.
Niasse departure will free up another slot for Dowell.
Sildebe departure will hopefully free up another slot for a game changing right winger.

It's a lot worse than that. We want to be winning trophies and become a CL club and so we're gonna have to make tactical decisions about sales and with FFP a slight worry we're probably gonna have to make some sales we would not want to agree to. Our current CM options are Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin and Davies, all HG, and combined they're on massive wages. We have made lots of mistakes and we're gonna have to find some HG 'foreigners' that have been with FA Clubs or hope the likes of Gibson and others are actually good enough to be part of our first-team squad. This is why Ancelotti is gonna give Gordon a chance. I think Gordon will take it and prove to be a valuable player. Not so sure about Dowell because he seems not to have a position that is clear on the field.

He's so good here makes you wonder what happened in Napoli
Brands says his ideal squad size is 23 so that leaves 2 spots to sign Barry Smith and Robert Whitmore from some league 2 team for a thousand each and give them 600 quid a week to help fill the homegrown quota.

As much as it's important to keep an eye on HG players, i think this is being looked at from the wrong angle, the most important part of this rule is that you can't have any more than 17 'foreigners', which means at the moment we're more than fine.
