HK critical of Moyes' six LC changes

part of the reason is becuase the youngsters are too inexperienced,
Spurs and RS have been playing in the nexygen series which is basically the champions league for the reserve teams and you can see even when they make 6 or 7 changes how much more mature and intelligent those players are then other teams.

whay havent we got our youngsters in the nexygen series, not saying that will make everything better but its a start.

We only have two keepers at the moment so if Howard gets injured, suspended Much is going to play so we need to give him games when we can.

With Gibson out, Rodwell not replaced and the bloke from Belgium with the massive name not having his transfer agreed by FIFA Osman & Neville had to rested because love them or hate them, for the time being thats what we've got in the centre

Baines had to be rested, he is just to important to us to get a knock etc

As a younger blue I can't help reading his column and thinking "what do you know?"

I've got a lot of respect for what he achieved in the 80's but all I remember him for are two abysmal spells, and carl tyler and Mitch Ward.

Also, having seen him before and after games I wonder when he's coherent enough to put this stuff together.

I'll probably get loads for this but I don't think he's in a position to comment on Moyes management in this era of the game.

Just wow...You're normally a guy who's posts I like to read, this is way off though.

Apart from Mucha, who done nothing wrong he didn't do muich different to that.

Most have said they think Fellaini is better as a box to box player.

Plenty think Heits and Disty are our best pair, me included.

Most think Neville is gash and junior should have got a chance. Most also think three games in a week is too much for an arl man like Nev.

Hibbo is injured, who else could have played there.

Would you have rushed Jela back and dropped an in-form Vic in case the lower league side were boss?

His options weren't as bountiful as some people would have you think.

If you went back in time to before the Leeds match, 99% of us would have agreed with playing a weaker side.

Retrospect is nice, but it's not the six changes that bothered me - it was the mindset of the players
. Once again too many proved themselves to be surrender monkeys in cup competitions, bottling it when the pressure is on to win, and a large aspect of that is the mentality of the manager.

So, in summary, I don't blame his team selection - I blame his managerial ability.

Both spot on. The mental strength of our players is just not there and hasn't been for years they are bottlers.

I don't think it's unfair, a bit harsh maybe but Howards issues are well documented and easy enough to see on Goodison Rd if you look.

People don't like to see their heroes criticised and I understand that.

Leeds were very good.. Just though I would throw that in there.. Our full team would of had a real game on their hands against them.
We made changes that should of been made, they didn't stand up to be counted and our steadfast players dropped their game.. The consequences were inevitable.

Exactly. I've watched our full team capitulate in cups too many times to think we would have won there if only Moyes had picked Howard and Baines. Reading at home comes to mind for one.

Like Tubey says the problem wasn't the line up, it was the paper tiger mentality that Moyes' teams have always had. We fold under pressure.

Some of the players that played should want to play first team football, so they had the chance at Leeds to show us and Moyes what they are capable of and barely any of them delivered at all. I dont blame Moyes for the selection, i seen the team and the first thing is said was 'We SHOULD do them tonight with that team', yes maybe 6 changes might have been too many, but when you see who the 6 were that argument goes out of the window. The players never turned up and Leeds wanted it more, fair play.

Totally disagree, that team was not weak. It had a wealth of first team experience, internationals and the like. Only Junior was the 'untried' player; Oviedo is full international with European experience. These aren't school kids who played.

They just got outplayed and out fought, its that simple. Leeds wanted it more and deserved it

He didn't say weak he said weakened. And it was. We were made vulnerable needlessly.

Moyes did right in making the changes.

They just didn't step up.

Don't forget those players are the ones that will come in when injuries hit, so they need games

You dont think leaving out the undisputed #1 GK, breaking up the CB partnership and leaving out your most attack minded player was a disruption? Making use of the likes of Gueye/Junior for Osman/Pienaar, fine. Put them in and see how it goes. Something you can put right by having Osman/Pienaar on the bench.

Agreed.

Which is why we'll never win anything with Moyes in charge.

Whatever Howard Kendalls later problems his team had a winning mentality.

Still don't really buy the fold under pressure though. Surely we were under more pressure aginst Liverpool, or United in the cup during the cup final run than we were against Leeds and we got past them.
In fact I would suggest the pressure was well and truly lifted for the Leeds game.
