Help for a new fan?

Hiya.

Recently gotten into football and well Everton. I’m in my early 20s so sometimes I feel out of my depth because I never grew up learning the basics. Like I know how the basic rules but stuff like tactics, what makes a good player (other then score many goals or prevents goals) or trying to remember who everyone is. Tad overwhelming when you think about it too much.

Im here now cause I wanna learn more. I wanna know exactly type of football moyes likes to play and why. Who are some of the past Everton players I should know and why. Links to iconic goals (even just ones you may like) or matches or even just some fun facts. Literally anything is appreciated. Even a little chat about Everton as there’s no many people around me to talk to about them.

Yeah I’m local. Didn’t go with the reds cause my dad tried way too hard to make a Liverpool fan as a kid that it made me hate them lol

Well done your dad haha. As someone who got into rugby at 15 and didn’t have a clue apart from pass backwards, then went on to play at a decent level I’d say watch as much as you can, that’s how I learnt how to play. Then if you watch YouTube for coaching drills and coach masterclasses you will get an understanding of what they’re wanting or trying to get their teams to do.

Just take it in your stride mate, if you try and jump into the game this late on than you wont settle in properly.

Forget the homework, their is no homework in Football, it all comes when it comes. You need to get a proper feel of the game from a simple basis, playing/watching on the field, not off the field.

If you dont find love in the game than all the rest is needless information.

Just sit back and enjoy and let it suck you in..

( reading your post, it does smell like a Chico Multi. If not, than that is the first person you really need to do your homework on )

You need to know that one doesn't choose to be an Evertonian. We are born, not manufactured, although many like you are chosen to come to the faith a little later.

If you believe in Purgatory, Everton supporters are ahead in starting our period of cleansing while still alive.

Thanks for the advice. Going to a few games soon so should give me that proper feel.
