I just hope we have a good season. If that's with Jags or Heitinga at the back, I'll take it either way.

Personally I prefer Heitinga, I do rate Jags though. It's like trying to pick between a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. Just comes down to personal preference.

Johnny was peerless, Baines was Baines, he never had a bad game, but it wasnt his best Season, I mean when Baines has an average Season hes still the best LB in the World.

Johnny deserved it, he was defo the player of the Year.

Ridiculous comparison.

People don't see or understand what goes on off the pitch, hence the clapping Kenwright. Hardly comparable to them voting the best player from what they've watched all year.

What I'm trying to say is most arguments that Heitinga should be in the first team touch on him being voted the fans player of the year. Which on the grand scale of things isn't a reason to pick him. Where as no one takes much notice that Distin was voted the player of the year by those closest to the team

Gone away with the dutch squad, and the minute he's off the plane, he's publicly questioning Moyes' decision for leaving him out at the start of this season. I've lost count of the times he's done this, or talked up a potential move away from the club whenever he's been made to look like a squad player, rather than the indispensible talent he seems to think he is. He'll have a year left on his contract at the end of the season, and i for one, wouldn't consider renewing it.
In short, get rid!

He's our best controlling and distributing centre half, and has showed that over long periods here.

i was thinking about this. he has been gash when he's played there before, but he's surely a much better option than neville. great tackler and great passer. it's not as if neville ousts him and those departments or strips him for pace. moyes can be really frustrating at times.

johnny was suppose to be captain this season FFS!

I've just realised that Distin is 35 soon, who the hell is going to replace him?

Moyes needs to start playing Duffy a bit more then if he sees him as his direct replacement.

Centre backs can go on forever, especially with Distin's pace. God knows we've had a few golden oldies, Dave Watson, David Weir, Richard Gough, Stubbs......
Distin's got no problem, unless his eyes go, the old b*****d!

Hi Guys, new on here, and thought I'd get involved. I personally think Heitinga should get more game time this year. Distin will be off probably at the end of this season, and Johnny needs to be given the chance to command a CB berth. I can kind of see his frustration, A dutch international (though slighlty dodgy in recent times) only getting 5 or so minutes per match. Why can't Moysie rotate them more frequently in the premier league??
