For heavens sake let's just sell him and bring in Zat Knight or someone who is happy to sit on the bench, and finally we can stop these threads about having too many good players.
No I wasn't saying he didn't deserve it, just that it doesn't make him our indisputable best player from last year. If you're being pedantic.
Heitinga was popular with the fans which helps. Distin's never been respected enough by our fans in my opinion -- I still hear "Dustbin" every so often.
How about, you turn you're computer off, fall down stairs, scald yourself on a cup of tea, and go to bed.
Sorry for having a debate on a forum!
I just meant you made it sound like fans are stupid and vote for the most obvious players. Heitinga doesn't really do anything immediately noticeable, so there must be another reason the fans like him. I'd like to think it's because the majority know their football and value good players. If you look at the previous winners, they're usually spot on.
I think the fans take to him, because he comes across as a no nonsense character, in the way he plays and off the pitch. He's also got a bit of Tommy Gravesen about him!
Definitely, a strong attitude that makes him easy to like.

If Heitinga does stay, he'll have to sign a new contract pretty sharpish. He'll want a salary he knows he can get from ALL of the clubs that have been after him for the 3 years of his everton career. Will everton offer him improved terms on his £55,000 a week, or will moyes think he can spend the money better?
I think he'll be gone this time next year.
I think if you read the comments on the OS or the forum on there you'll soon realise that there's a fair few with debatable opinions, to be polite.
I wasn't trying to say Johnny didn't deserve it as he was probably my player of the season too. I was just saying that a website poll isn't exactly indisputable evidence of anything other than the fact that he won a vote.
He should be more like Winston Bogarde and love it on the bench, picking up his money. Shocking of him to say he's gonna try and get back in the team.
