Heitinga (again)........

He has already said once today that he is happy at the club, does he have to tell us this every single day from now on to prove it?

He should get more opportunities, he earned it with his displays last season.

Distin was better than Heits last year IMO but Jags was very inconsistent.

Heits was terrible in the Euros and Moyes might have wanted to give him a bit of extra rest.

Either way the way Jags and Distin played in our first two games means he will ahve to be patient

one of the 3 has to be left out, of course one is going to be upset. he'll get his chances though, distin is 34, he'll need a rest from time to time. should not have been dropped for man utd game, but then again moyes watched him through pre-season and maybe he didn't look in form. he didn't look great in the euro's tbh, then again moyes clearly sees jags and distin as his faves.

thought there was something about heitinga agreeing with moyes that he starts a season slowly and that is why he's been left out. also how many bloody interviews does the guy do, seems to be doing one every day

im a massive fan of Heitinga and can understand hes frustrated in fact id be fuming if he was sat on the bench happy with his wages.
good competition for the CB spots is great for this club,

would you rather him say im not happy being on the bench, or im happy sitting on the bench???

Sorry but what a pile of sh*te.

Player of the year last season, yet he's dropped for the start of this season and gets 5 minutes in centre mid at the end of games? I'd be fuming too.

But no, lets let him go on a free when one of other centre halfs only has probably a season left, and another is still an unproven kid.

Jesus wept.

Who said let him go on a free?
I'm saying, He's hardly irreplaceable, he's on £55,000 a week, and we would get decent money for a player who has had one good season out of 3. Again, does anyone know what the real Heitinga is? Is it the 'alleged' player of the year from last season, or the one that turns up for holland every couple of months, because he's bog bog average every time for the dutch.

Apologies, I took you saying not renew his contract the wrong way.

Still, we'd get more money for an English centre half in these days of quotas and financial regulations so why not sell Jagielka?

Edit: He wasn't the "alleged" player of the year. He was the actual player of the year. The one with the most votes.

Because i'd have Jagielka captain, instead of captain marvel.

We are fortunate to have three quality experienced central defenders.
Everybody has their own preference, but I prefer the Jagielka/Distin partnership.

If he's going to start ahead of Heitinga, he'd be my choice too. Christ, anyone but Neville. But because I'd have Heitinga in ahead of Jagielka and Heitinga would be my shout for captain.

To be fair who the fans vote for as our best player isn't necessarily our best player. Just check the man of the match votes at the end of games. Any new signing or goalscorer wins basically.

Distin was the players' player of the year, which I think is a better reflection perhaps. But I would say that as I love the Distructor.

Why did Heitinga win it then? The fans' choice is normally pretty fair I reckon.

No I wasn't saying he didn't deserve it, just that it doesn't make him our indisputable best player from last year. If you're being pedantic.

Heitinga was popular with the fans which helps. Distin's never been respected enough by our fans in my opinion -- I still hear "Dustbin" every so often.
