Wonderful player, wonderful coach and an absolutely lovely man! We were so spoiled at this club to have had colin at the same time as we had Alan Ball and Howard Kendall. People should always appreciate that he was as i potprtant to the Holy Trinity and Bally or Howard were!
Colin was responsible for two of the happiest days of my life. The semi in 1966 and that goal against West Brom in 1970. Gentleman and Evertonian. Thank you Colin Harvey for what you gave the world.
Met him on a few occasions. Literally amazing that someone so talented was also so unassuming and modest. Met him one time in Rotterdam at a pre-season friendly and he was happy to chat. Offered to let me see them train when we got back to England. Asked me for my number to make good on the offer when we got home. And then actually rang me so we could go to Bellfield!!!! The look on my dad's face when I came and he said you've just missed Co.in Harvey...he is ringing back in ten minutes. No publicity stunt just doing something nice for an ordinary fan! Amazing. And that goal against West Brom...nirvana.
Merci pour tout Colin!!!
Happy Birthday Colin and thanks for your outstanding contribution to Everton's history, my outstanding memory of him is before the Cup Winners cup final in Rotterdam, doing coaching with them on the pitch and geeing them up before kick off, yes Kendal was the manager through our great success of the eighties but Colin's input to that should never be underestimated nor forgotten.
